Greenville, S.C. (April 15, 2013) – Bob Jones University Executive Vice President for Operations Marshall Franklin announced Friday the appointment of Ken Still as Chief Financial Officer to replace John Matthews who will move full-time into his new role as Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations.
Ken Still, who most recently served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Treasurer (CFO) for Aldersgate United Methodist Retirement Community in Charlotte, N.C., will assume responsibility for the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial and risk management operations of Bob Jones University on May 27.
Still earned his MBA from the University of Florida and holds a BS in Accounting from BJU. He completed an advanced Kaiser-Permanente leadership program at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He is also a certified public accountant and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Matthews, N.C.

Prior to his most recent position, Still served as Vice President of Finance & Corporate Controller, Interim CFO, Group Controller – Treasury, and Director of Accounting with SantaFe HealthCare, Inc. and as a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen & Company.
John Matthews, who has been concurrently serving as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President for Finance and Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations since December, will now devote his full focus to improving communication and increasing engagement with our alumni as Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations.
Matthews earned his MBA from Clemson University in 1996 and holds a BS in Professional Accounting from BJU. Mr. Matthews is a licensed certified public accountant and worked at Ernst & Young for 2 years before joining the BJU accounting faculty and later becoming the assistant chief financial officer. Matthews is a deacon at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors.
