Miles Coleman Named to 2015 Class of Leadership South Carolina

Coleman, MilesGREENVILLE, S.C. (September 29, 2014) – Miles Coleman, a 2006 Bob Jones University graduate, has been named to the 2015 class of Leadership South Carolina, the state’s oldest and most recognized leadership development program.

Coleman is an attorney at Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough, LLP in Columbia.  He joins the Class of 2015 and more than 1,350 Leadership South Carolina members who have participated in the nine month program addressing current and critical issues facing South Carolina.

Leadership South Carolina accepts approximately 50 participants a year who demonstrate commitment to their community and strive to reach a higher level of service to the Palmetto State.

BJU Students Sign Banner Assuring Clemson University Family Of Our Prayers for Them

(September 26, 2014) – Students at Bob Jones University signed a banner today to  assure the faculty, staff and students of Clemson University that we are praying for them during the difficult loss of one of their students this week.  BJU student leaders will deliver the signed banner to Clemson early next week.

BJU Symphony Orchestra to Perform with David Kim

DavidKimGREENVILLE, S.C. (September 23, 2014) — Bob Jones University begins its 2014-2015 Concert, Opera and Drama Series Thurs., Oct. 2, as the BJU Symphony Orchestra performs with special guest, David Kim, concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

The concert, which begins at 8 p.m. in the Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium on the BJU campus, will feature Kim performing one of the most popular violin concertos of all time, Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3—a riveting work in its beauty, passion, and power.

In addition, Kim will lead the string section of the orchestra in a performance of Grieg’s Holberg Suite and the Meditation from Massenet’s Thaïs.

The audience will find in Kim both a consummate artistry and engaging warmth that together should make for a spectacular evening of music.

An Evening with Emile Pandolfi at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, S.C. (September 22, 2014) — WBJU IQ Radio invites you to join them for an evening of music and laughter with world renowned pianist, Emile Pandolfi on Friday, October 17 at 8 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium on the campus of Bob Jones University. Pandolfi will perform an exciting program of Broadway hits, movie themes and some Pandolfi originals. Pandolfi has a “passion for music, for beauty, for the communication of emotion, for life.” Beyond that, Pandolfi is an expert entertainer and comedian who engages the audience with impeccably timed comedic bursts. This is an evening you will not forget.

This concert is sponsored by WBJU IQ Radio, the student radio station of the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at BJU, streaming fresh instrumental music to help listeners study, work, and relax.

Tickets are currently on sale online and at the Rodeheaver Auditorium box office M-F 12pm-5pm or by calling (864) 770-1372.  BJU Student tickets are $10, while General admission is $20 in advance. Tickets are $25 the day of the show.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will allow the station to acquire much needed computer and streaming applications that will allow IQ Radio to better serve its audience.

Bill Blount to Speak at JMC Forum

(September 15, 2014) – The Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) department at Bob Jones University will host their first Media Forum of the semester on Tuesday, September 16 at 5 p.m. in FA 101 with guest speaker, Mr. Bill Blount. Blount is Chairman of the National Religious Broadcasters Association and Founder of Blount Communications in Derry, New Hampshire. He is a well sought after speaker with a passion to reach the lost for Christ around the world. The stated goal of his media organization is, “To use mass media to help the people of New England enter into and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.” His role as Chairman of NRB positions him to make a profound impact for Christ in the world through mass media and we know his talk will both encourage and inspire you.  Blount is a 1976 graduate of the Radio & Television Broadcasting program at BJU.
