State Supreme Court Justice John Kittredge to Speak at BJU

judge kittredgeGreenville, S.C. (February 5, 2014) – South Carolina Supreme Court Justice John Kittredge will be the featured speaker for the BJU Pre-Law Forum Mon., Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. in Levinson Hall on the Bob Jones University campus.

Justice Kittredge will speak about how he became a Supreme Court Justice, the types of cases that come before him, how the legal system has changed over the years and the role of faith in his legal career.

A resident of Greenville, Kittredge graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 1979. He graduated from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 1982. Academic honors include Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif, and Wig and Robe.

Kittredge was elected to the South Carolina family court bench in 1991, the circuit court bench in 1996, the Court of Appeals in 2003, and the South Carolina Supreme Court in 2008.

The South Carolina Supreme Court is the highest court in the state. The Court is composed of a Chief Justice and four Associate Justices who are elected to ten year terms by the General Assembly

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the event. Levinson Hall is located near the front entrance of the BJU campus in the Welcome Center.
