Student Survey

You recently received a student survey in your email. (If you don’t see it, check your junk or clutter folder for an email from pra@bju.edu.) Many of you have already filled it out—way to go! If you haven’t been able to yet, please fill it out and push the “send” button by Sunday, April 23, at 11:59 p.m.

The entire campus has been divided into 10 groups: the 8 residence halls and day men and day women. Whichever group has the greatest percentage of completed surveys will receive $200 toward a party or activity. This is the time for day students to shine!

At this point 27% of day men and 28% of day women have completed the survey. Overall, guys, you are in 8th place; and girls, you are in 7th place. Encourage all of your day student friends to take 20 minutes and fill out the survey. Wouldn’t it be awesome if day students won the competition?  I will send an update on our ranking very soon!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at jcox@bju.edu.

Have a wonderful day!

Exemptions During Commencement Week (May 1-5)

If you do not have final exams on a given day, you are not expected to attend chapel or society meeting on that day.

You may also obtain an exemption for chapel, society, and the awards program during commencement week for regularly scheduled work consistent with your semester work schedule.

You may miss the baccalaureate service and commencement for regularly scheduled work consistent with your semester work schedule only if your job will continue during the summer.

If you live more than 30 miles from the campus, you may miss the baccalaureate service unless you are graduating.

Please note that a recurring semester exemption does not excuse chapel or society absences during exams and will not excuse commencement activities. You will need to submit a non-recurring exemption request by Monday, April 24, in order to be excused.

Merchant of Venice this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Merchant of Venice is coming up this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All students may attend free of charge, and undergraduate day students taking six or more hours are expected to attend. If you have not done so already, you will need to secure tickets online at bju.edu/tickets.

Please note that students taking six or more credit hours are expected to attend all of the Concert, Opera & Drama Series programs. If you have regularly scheduled work or outreach ministry during every performance, you will need to submit an exemption request in order to be excused. Please submit your request right away so that there is time for it to be approved prior to the date of the program.
